Mapei, a new factory in the USA

10/03/05 – The official opening ceremony for the new production facility built by Mapei (the world’s largest producer of surface covering installation products) in California was held on 24 January and was attended by Giorgio Squinzi (CEO Mapei) and Nicholas Di Tempora (president of Mapei Americas).

The new San Bernardino facility will serve the Pacific coast of the United States, in particular California, Nevada, Utah and the south of Idaho. It will also operate in conjunction with the existing plant at Phoenix (Arizona) to serve the states of Colorado and Wyoming.

The new facility has highly distinctive architecture and will initially produce semi-finished materials for all Mapei products.
These include products for installing ceramic tiles, vinyl, carpet and parquet, as well as specific products for remediating concrete. Mapei closed fiscal 2004 with a turnover of 1.1 billion euro (up 12% on 2003) and has a market that extends over 80 countries worldwide.
