Kajaria (India) prepares for growth
Specifically, the Sikandrabad factory will increase its production capacity. For this site the Italian company Manfredini & Schianchi will be supplying a complete “PPFV” body preparation plant capable of producing more than 12,000 sq.m/day of red body floor tiles. Kajaria expects to reach a production of 18 million square metres in 2005.
In fiscal 2003-2004, the company reported a 13% increase in turnover (to a total of Rs. 2,698 million, approximately 47 million euro).
In spite of the continued cuts in the natural gas supply to the Sikandrabad facility and a substantial increase in fuel prices, net profits (after tax) rose from Rs. 99 to 118 million (2.1 million euro, 19% up on the previous year).
