Fassa Bortolo in Portugal

05/08/04 - Production has begun at the new Fassa Bortolo factory in Portugal. Located at Batalha, midway between Portugal’s two largest cities Lisbon and Porto, the facility is Fassa’s first production site abroad.

The state-of-the-art factory extends over an area of 34,000 sq.m and has a production capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day.
Raw materials are obtained from two quarries located close to the factory, while modern sound-proofing and powder containment systems assure the maximum attention to the environment.

The initiatives scheduled for the new facility included the start of the 3rd stage of the “Volta a Portugal” round-Portugal cycle race on 31 July, in which the Fassa Bortolo team was competing.
