Vicente Bagán appointed new chairman of ANFFECC
The vice chairman of Altadia Group takes the helm of the Spanish ceramic frit, glaze and pigment producers’ association amid cost pressures, the energy transition and challenges posed by European regulations.
The Spanish Association of Ceramic Frit, Glaze and Pigment Producers (ANFFECC) has announced a change in leadership. The General Assembly, meeting on 17 April in Castellón, elected Vicente Bagán (Altadia Group) as the association’s chairman for the four-year term 2026-2029.
The Assembly also approved the new composition of the Executive Committee, which sees former chairman Fernando Fabra (Esmaltes) serving as vice chairman, Joaquín Font de Mora (Vidres) as treasurer. Gonzalo Trilles (Colorobbia) and Ángel Navarro (Coloronda) stay on as directors, alongside Francisco Nácher (Esmalglass-Itaca) and Francisco Ruvira (Torrecid).
Vicente Bagán, who holds a degree in chemistry from the University of Valencia, has over thirty years’ experience in the field of ceramic frits, glazes and colours. Since 2023, he has served as vice chairman of the Altadia Group, having previously spent 16 years as its CEO, during which time he was instrumental in the group’s industrial development and international expansion.
ANFFECC’s new chairman takes over from Fernando Fabra at a particularly difficult time for the sector. While maintaining their international leadership through innovation, global expansion, quality and customer service, Spanish frit and glaze producers are facing multiple challenges, including volatile energy and raw material costs, geopolitical uncertainty and a consequent reduction in international market demand, the energy transition, and a tightening of the European regulatory framework, particularly with regard to decarbonisation. This situation requires businesses to intensify their efforts to remain competitive while continuing to develop technological solutions capable of reducing emissions without compromising industrial activity.
After thanking Fabra for his work over the past four years and his colleagues for the trust they have placed in him, Bagán used his first address as chairman to emphasise the need to strengthen the Association’s role. He stressed the importance of maintaining constant dialogue with public authorities and institutions within the ceramic sector,
“so that the energy transition and the European regulatory framework proceed in a realistic manner, with feasible timelines and without penalising industrial production in Spain and Europe”.
