The state of the Italian ceramic industry

05/12/03 - A press conference to be held on 12 December will present the Assopiastrelle surveys on the Italian ceramic industry, international competition and market prospects for the purpose of determining the state of the Italian tile industry and the sector's prospects for the short-term future.

During the press conference (to be attended by Sergio Sassi, chairman of Assopiastrelle, Gianpietro Mondini, chairman of the Assopiastrelle Statistics Committee, and Franco Vantaggi, the Association's director general), the results of the analyses conducted by Assopiastrelle and Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna and contained in the "Report on economic conditions and assets of ceramic sector companies" will be unveiled together with an analysis of industrial costs in a study conducted by Assopiastrelle - Giorgio Olivieri & Associati and entitled "Costs by product types and average revenues in the ceramic tile sector".

The economic, market and profitability prospects are explored in an Assopiastrelle - Prometeia report entitled "Forecasting report for world ceramic tile market - 2003/2004", which this year will also be presenting a detailed analysis of the Italian industry's strategic international positioning relative to the "price bracket" variable.
