Tosilab at Cersaie: colour as a cultural manifesto for the future
The System Ceramics’ division dedicated to ceramic design, part of the Coesia Group, will exhibit at Cersaie in Hall 33.
Tosilab, a division of System Ceramics and part of the Coesia Group, will be a protagonist at Cersaie 2025, in Bologna from 22 to 26 September. The well-known ceramic design studio will welcome visitors with two highlights: the completion of its rebranding operation and an exhibition that presents colour as a cultural manifesto.
Tosilab’s research into the relationship between design and society, innovation and human beings is brought to life at its booth at Cersaie 2025 (Hall 33, Booth D26-E37). In this sophisticated cultural concept, four 90x90 cm mood boards reinterpret the four primordial elements as a timeline through the history of Western art:
- fire, in terracotta and red, recalls the age-old expressive power of Etruscan art;
- earth, in yellows and oranges, echoes the transcendent luminosity of early Christian mosaics in Ravenna;
- air, represented by green, evokes the Renaissance harmony of Botticelli and his idealised relationship with nature;
- water, interpreted by light blue, celebrates the colour revolution of modernity through the works of Matisse.
This chromatic narrative is more than an aesthetic exercise, it is a meditation on the role of colour as a universal language. In this age of growing complexity and uncertainty, the return to primary colours represents a search for the roots that contemporary design can draw on as a source of stability and authenticity, offering shared points of reference through a direct visual language.
With this project, Tosilab not only presents its stylistic research but also proposes a design methodology whereby colour becomes a tool for interpreting today’s cultural trends, which in turn are the keys to understanding the future of ceramic design. Tosilab presents a programmatic vision for the world of industry, anticipating and shaping collective aesthetic sensibilities. Through its research combining methodological rigour with creative intuition, Tosilab aims to position itself as a point of reference for the entire ceramic industry.
