Anatolia achieves Zero Waste certification in Izmir

The certification recognises the waste reduction, material recovery and resource efficiency practices adopted at Anatolia’s Izmir plant.

By achieving Zero Waste certification for its state-of-the-art facility opened in 2024 in Izmir, Türkiye, Anatolia has reached an important new milestone in its sustainability journey. Issued by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, the certification recognises the organisation’s ability to effectively manage waste reduction, separate waste collection, recovery and environmental performance monitoring in compliance with the country’s Zero Waste Regulation.

For Anatolia, founded in Toronto (Canada) in 1995, this achievement reflects a broader philosophy: sustainability must be integrated into the manufacturing process right from the design stage and across all daily operations. Waste reduction is achieved through careful process planning and manufacturing optimisation. Materials such as paper, plastic, metal, glass and organic waste are collected separately and sent for recycling and recovery, helping to minimise environmental impact while improving operational efficiency. The certification also recognises broader initiatives relating to responsible resource management, including the efficient use of energy, water and raw materials. Environmental performance is monitored regularly, while employees receive ongoing education and awareness training on zero waste principles and sustainable production practices.

The Izmir facility is a clear expression of this vision. Thanks to innovative production technologies and advanced solutions for reducing environmental impact, including a photovoltaic roof covering the entire facility, it combines innovation, efficiency and sustainability. This enhances Anatolia’s ability to meet the needs of the global design and construction industries, which are increasingly focused on sustainable materials and transparent production processes.
